GD Goenka has been established to cater to the rising demand for quality education in Agra. The School has a proactive approach to education and its foundations are based on the philosophy that quality education requires consistent efforts and new directions in the area of teaching and learning.

It is the endeavour of the school to be student centered in its approach and provide a balanced curriculum that results in the development of the overall personality of the students and to help them in becoming thought leaders of tomorrow.

Class Rooms :

The early years of a student’s life are, invariably, the most crucial ones. They constitute the golden period when a student can make or break his/her career. When it comes to laying the foundation stone for your child’s future, it’s not just mental peace that counts; physical surroundings also play a key role in shaping his/her outlook towards life in general.

Classrooms are spacious, centrally air conditioned and have lighting arrangements as per international standards. We ensure our students get classrooms that are not only spacious and airy, but also subject based. The number of students in each class is restricted, so that the teachers give individual attention to each student. Aesthetically designed furniture has been provided in each classroom, keeping in mind the comfort of the child. Each classroom of Pre-School and Pre-Primary has a different colour scheme.

Computer Lab :

Computer Science is a compulsory subject in the school. Computer labs offer a lot of scope for all the children to acquire hands – on training. The School has a well developed computer centre with first-rate machines. Top-notch IT facilities allow students to surf the internet. Instructors and faculty members are available to help students to learn and use computer extensively for their learning. It is fully equipped to provide child friendly activities through interesting software. Each child has his/her own work station to practice. Computer education begins right from Nursery and goes up to class XII. In the lower classes, computers are also used as a means to learn other subjects. The Computer labs also facilitate senior students to acquire programming skills.

Cafe – t – Eria :

A few moments that you snatch for yourself from the hectic schedule are best spent in a convenient layout of the school cafeteria. It provides wholesome snacks and drinks in the most hygienic conditions. It offers a variety of nutritive food items.

Health and nutrition of every student is of prime concern at G. D. Goenka School. Our endeavour is to provide students with a wide variety of food, while ensuring that they receive a nutritious and balanced diet. The menu has been drafted after taking into account the wishes of students, faculty and the opinions of doctors and dieticians. The judiciously chosen diet which includes the perennial favourite ice-cream ensures nutrition while allowing students to enjoy a wide and varied menu throughout the year.

It not only caters to the needs of students and staff members but also the parents and visitors. The canteen administration takes care of the events that take place in the school and serve special refreshments on occasions like Mango Day, Ice-cream day, P.T.M.s, Independence Day etc.

The provision for the electric gadgets like microwave, refrigerator, corn machine, etc. adds to the delectable inclusions in the menu. The school cafeteria is open to changes /suggestions with the sole aim to serve in the best possible way.

Play Fields – Games :

“ All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy ! ”here lies the importance of playgrounds in schools. Students at G. D. Goenka School are encouraged to play a variety of sports. Nationally-trained coaches come to the school to coach the boys and Girls.

Cricket, hockey and soccer are seasonal sports. Tennis, table tennis, badminton, squash, basketball, swimming, boxing, athletics and gymnastics tournaments are also built into the calendar. Facilities exist for all indoor and outdoor games. Park equipment designed especially for the Preppers and Primary School children keeps them active and in good spirits. The school has its own swimming pool within the premises with separate changing room and showers for boys and girls. Every class has a period allotted for swimming. The pool is specially designed for our little ones and qualified trained lifeguard to ensure the safety of each child.

The students who are selected for the School team represent the school at the Council meets, Indian Public School Conference (IPSC) meet, Invitational Competitions held by various schools, District, State and National levels (if selected). The school team also occasionally tours schools in India and abroad to play friendly matches and gain valuable experience and exposure.

Library :

No educational institution is complete without a good, well stocked library, nor can education be complete without inculcating healthy reading habits. The school has a well stocked, spacious, well lit and ventilated library which houses about 20,000 books on varied subjects. We at Goenka understand that children have their individual preferences when it comes to reading. To ensure that a child gets to read what he likes, the school organises campus exhibitions or sends group of students to Book Fairs in Delhi to select titles which are then added to the library after the necessary review of their appropriateness. Titles range from Reference to Subject related, from Philosophy to Religion, from Arts and Recreation to English literature and Fiction, from Biographies to Adventure and not to forget Hindi literature and fiction. The library also subscribes to over two dozen magazine and journals

Auditorium :

Equipped with the modern and state of the art audio – visual auditorium facilities, a commodious auditorium with a capacity to accommodate more than 1000 people. The hall stands witness to the blossoming/flowering of hidden talents. The auditorium had well equipped and fully designed light and sound systems.

Language Lab :

Language Lab is the world’s most popular virtual school for the languages. The lab is used for language training by the tutorials with the aid of interactive tools. LANGUAGE LAB is an audio – visual aid in modern language teaching for the students. This especially benefits students who are deficient in English conversation and also aims at confidence – building for interviews and competitive examinations. The Language laboratory sessions also include word games, quizzes, extemporary speaking, debates, skits etc.

Medical Facilities :

An air – conditioned fully equipped medical room has a doctor and a nurse on duty all through the school hours. School has tie – ups with leading Nursing Homes in different locations on the bus routes in the case of emergency.

Hygiene and Sanitation :

Highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness is maintained at G.D. Goenka. Only mineral water is supplied for drinking purpose with disposable glasses through numerous water dispensers’ placed at convenient locations all over the campus.
